@k_h_koehler #Review "The Devil's Companion: A Guide to Nick Englebrecht's World"

The Devil's Companion: A Guide to Nick Engelbrecht's World review
Author: K.H. Koehler
5 out of 5 stars

Book Info: Genre: Urban Fantasy companion guide
Reading Level: Adult
Recommended for: fans of, or those interested in, this series.
Trigger Warnings: murder, necrophilia

My Thoughts: There is some really cool stuff in here for fans of the Nick Englebrecht series. The glossary is fairly basic, but would be a great reference to have on hand while reading. I was a bit disappointed that the link to the playlist was not clickable from the Cloud reader, nor could I copy and paste anything, but I imagine in a tablet it would work. The pictures scattered here and there are pretty cool.

The short story is seriously twisted as Nick tries to figure out who is murdering people by stealing their organs, cutting out the pieces while the person is still alive. It's pretty chilling stuff, but that's what the Nick Englebrecht stuff is all about.

The Q&A with Vivian is very cool. She expresses a lot of great ideas, and explains why she's so obsessed with Maleficent.

If you've read and enjoyed the Nick Englebrecht stories, this is a must-read. If you are interested in learning more, definitely grab this, since it gives the first three chapters of both books for you to test read. Great stuff!

Disclosure: I picked up a copy free on Amazon. All opinions are my own.

Synopsis: Before you read The Devil You Know, learn all you can about Nick Englebrecht's world of witches, demons and other nasty things that go bump in the night, including the different castes of angels, the shady characters that populate the town of Blackwater, and the cults striving to claim the Godhead for their own nefarious purposes.

The Devil's Companion includes:

  • a full glossary of terms
  • three chapters of The Devil You Know and its sequel, The Devil Dances
  • a previously unpublished Nick Englebrecht short, "And Death Shall Have No Dominion"
